A Year in Dresses: Recapping Our 2024 Releases

As we enter the new year, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the beautiful stories we told in 2024 through our dresses. From bringing back beloved classics to trying something entirely new, last years collections celebrated timeless looks and the fun bold prints we are known for. Let’s take a walk down memory lane and revisit the highlights of our Spring and Fall releases.

Spring 2024:

The arrival of spring saw the bloom of some truly unforgettable styles, each with its own unique story to tell.

  • The Marie Dress
Spring began with a nod to nostalgia by reintroducing the Page Turner book print in the Marie dress. A fan favorite, this literary inspired design captured hearts once again with its stunning details. If video games were more your style we also had the Level Up Lovely print, featuring retro gaming controllers. For the fashionistas Hat Over Heels was a must-have with its playful print of purses, hats and high heeled pumps. Bold rainbow hues took us on a journey to the galaxy with Rainbow Odyssey and for those with a penchant for vintage elegance In Full Plume and Brew-Tea-full made for elegant options. This collection was modeled by our new model Shai, who also brought some delicious homemade cupcakes to the shoot!

  • The Doris Dress
Named after the actress and songbird Doris Day, the Doris exuded classic sophistication. Its full skirt and seamed bodice made it a must-have for those who cherish 50's inspired fashion. This collection featured something for everyone; from dainty tea cups, to a tropical Hawaiian floral print, kitschy Valentines Day critters, magical books, a star worthy galaxy print and brightly coloured music notes for those who dance to the beat of their own drum.

  • The Penelope Dress
Inspired by the Bridgerton character who embodies sass and grace, the Penelope dress debuted as a fresh addition to our lineup. With its romantic design modeled after our best-selling Norma dress, it was a perfect pick for afternoon teas, garden parties and everything in between! The Java Jive print perfect for our caffeine queens, Abstract Groove a delight for art nouveau lovers and Jelluminous with its bioluminescent jellyfish ready to make a splash.

Fall 2024: A Bold New Chapter

As the leaves turned, our Fall 2024 collection took center stage, blending nostalgia with forward thinking designs.

  • The Marlene Dress
The Marlene made a comeback with its effortless sophistication and versatile charm. A true testament to its enduring appeal, it seamlessly fit into any wardrobe. We had some subtle spooky prints for Halloween with the Webutant print and Forget Me Not featuring dancing skeletons hiding amongst colourful florals. A cherry and apple print added a sweet touch to this collection and Lunar Magick brought celestial mystery that had you shining like the night sky. And for the lovers, Flora Bella was the perfect dress for a romantic rendezvous. Vancouver's own 'Fatlesque' icon Arabella Boop modeled this collection. She also wrote a guest blog post for us this year. Check it out.

  • The Greta Tunic Dress
Autumn was also a season of firsts for us. The Greta Tunic Dress marked our venture into pull-on styles, offering chic comfort without the need for zippers. This dress was perfect for busy days when ease and style were equally important. It looked amazing paired with some leggings and boots for Fall as a top or as a shorter dress style.

  • The Joan Dress
Another new pull-on style, the Joan Dress continued our exploration of zipper-free silhouettes. With its understated elegance and relaxed design with a comfy elastic waist, it made for an ideal 'office to dinner date' dress. This collection had some full on Christmas vibes with the Merry Petals and Frosty Fling patterns. It then took us on a journey from the 70's with That's so Diane-thus to the 90's with Cosmic Crush, which had a strong esoteric vibe to keep you connected to the cosmos. Fibonacci Finery took things even further back in time with its unique ammonite pattern and Prismatic Plaid, a print we brought back in a beautiful red and green colour way with shimmery metallic touches. Perhaps you remember this print in a blue version we had on a Marie a few years ago.
